NEW YORK , October 2nd
In my previous post I wrote about how happiness to me means being where you want to be.
It’s easy to say, but hard to do: I have spent hours, days, months wondering where I would feel “at home”, where I could express all my potential, where I want to spend most of my life.
I love travelling and I am for sure a nomad spirit: I consider myself a citizen of the world, like the majority of my friends. We don’t belong anywhere, and at the same time, we belong everywhere.
But there is one place that I love with all of my heart, where I feel comfortable and where I can be myself without any fear and restrain.
That place is New York City.
New York is pure energy. The streets, the buildings, the people, the smell, the wind, the heat, the cold… It’s an extreme city that brings out the best of you. I’ve always loved New York since the very first time I came to the city. I was 20 and I was mesmerized. New York changes your perspectives: you encounter so many interesting people, you discover new places, you are exposed to so much and are encouraged to try new things. It forces you out of your comfort zone.
In New York dreams come true for those who work hard to make them happen.
Last summer I was in New York for an intensive 3 week singing and acting course: I learned a lot about musical theatre and performance, working with some great instructors. The course made me grow as an artist and as a performer but those three weeks spent in NYC had a huge impact on my life mostly because I met some people that changed my life forever.
I won’t tell you now who they are or what they do. I don’t want to give away too much too soon ;)
What you have to know is that these people played a big role in the biggest decision of my life.
It took me more than a year to take the courage and to decide. But I finally did.
On my birthday, Sep 28th, I got on a plane and I landed in New York, ready to start a new life.
